Documents are required only in the case of a .hu domain transfer or change of ownership.

The document-based .hu domain management has been discontinued and only factor-based domain registration is available. This means that in the future, changes will be approved by factor confirmation instead of documents. The first factor will always be the e-mail address and the second factor will be the telephone number for two-factor confirmation.
All email addresses and phone numbers provided for the domain name contacts must be verified. It is important to note that until the email addresses and phone numbers have been verified, the new registration or modification cannot be initiated.
The verification is valid for 1 year, so for the same contact it does not need to be repeated within that period. Verification is required only if the given email address or phone number is included in a new registration, modification, or transfer, and has not been verified within the past 1 year.

.hu domain transfer registration
A registrar change or change of domain holder is possible only for a domain name with factor-based identification. If the domain is still an “old”, document-based one, and you wish to change the registrar or domain holder, the domain name must first be converted to factor-based identification (“factorized”), and only then can the change be carried out. Currently, the factorization can be performed exclusively by the current registrar, not by the new registrar.
The system displays the AUTH (EPP) code, which is required for the transfer of the domain name. The AUTH (EPP) code must always be requested from the current registrar, and it is sent by the .hu registry to the domain holder’s email address. An AUTH (EPP) code can be requested only for a factor-based domain name.
After a registrar change or change of domain holder, no further change of domain holder or registrar change may be initiated for 30 days.
